KGTV ABC San Diego - ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) -- The first baby of 2020 in San Diego County was born just sixty seconds after the new year. Tatum Faith Perry made her way into the world at 12:01 a.m. New Years Day at Palomar Medical Center. Baby Tatum weighed a healthy 8 pounds, 6 ounces. Parents, Wendi and Kevin Perry thought their baby would be one of the last ones of the decade. Wendi's due date was December 31, 2019. The Valley Center family made their way to the hospital New Years Eve at 3 p.m. so mom could be induced, but baby Tatum decided she would wait for the new decade to make her grand entrance. The second baby of the year was born just a minute later at 12:02 a.m. Both mom and baby are doing well and will go home Thursday.
