Flight diverted to Denver after passenger stuck in bathroom

Houston Chronicle - DENVER (AP) ? Officials say a United Airlines flight from Washington D.C. to San Francisco was diverted to Denver after a passenger got stuck inside the jet's bathroom. KUSA-TV reported that Denver International Airport spokeswoman Emily Williams says the door to one of the airplane's bathrooms would not open, but could not confirm why. Williams says the flight crew called for assistance and the Denver firefighters helped open the door. Williams says there were no calls for medical assistance. Australia's Largest State Lifts Abortion Restrictions

NPR - Lawmakers in Sydney, Australia, have voted to decriminalize abortion in the country's most populous state, overturning legal restrictions that have been in place since the start of the 20th century. On Thursday, lawmakers in New South Wales voted to pass the Abortion Law Reform Act 2019. The new bill allows women to get abortions up to 22 weeks into a pregnancy and abolishes any common law rules relating to abortion. "Unlawful abortion" has been in the state's criminal code since 1900. Women were allowed to terminate pregnancies only if a medical practitioner agreed that a woman's physical or mental health was at risk. According to Parliament members, the bill was debated for nearly 70 hours in both Houses, and went through several amendments. Alex Greenwich, an Independent MP, drafted the bill. Houston Chronicle - WELCH, W.Va. (AP) ? West Virginia State Police say human remains have been found in McDowell County. Police Sgt. C.K. McKenzie told the Bluefield Daily Telegraph that the remains were discovered Tuesday in the Skygusty area and are not connected to three other sets of remains found in the region since June. First Sgt. J.K. Cooper said police received information that led them to the buried remains, which have been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for identification. Officials say the remains of 34-year-old Amanda Presutti were found on June 20 and her death is being investigated as a homicide. The remains of 46-year-old Billy Joe Baker were found on June 7 and police say his death doesn't appear suspicious.
