1 dead after shooting near Clarke and Teutonia

WITI FOX Milwaukee - MILWAUKEE -- One person is dead following a shooting near Clarke St. and Teutonia Ave. early morning Monday, July 22. Officials say the shooting happened around 12:24 a.m. inside an apartment building. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene for one deceased person.

Funeral services set for SHU grad killed by fallen tree

Danbury News-Times - Funeral service have been set for Jarrod M. Marotto, the 21-year-old Sacred Heart University graduate, who was killed when a tree feel on his vehicle last Wednesday. Firefighters waited nearly an hour Wednesday afternoon for personnel from United Illuminating Co., as a young man sat dead or dying after his car was crushed by a branch and entangled in downed power lines, witnesses said. Numerous radio calls went out from Bridgeport and Fairfield fire departments calling UI to the scene on Park Avenue. After UI personnel arrived, Marotto was extricated from the car. He was was later pronounced dead at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. Visiting hours will be from 3 -7 p.m., Monday along with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. A private burial service will be held at the convenience of the family. His family asked that in lieu of flowers please send memorial donations to The Jarrod Marotto Memorial Fund, Southi

Shannon Dingle tweeted about Lee Dingle's death, saying "my partner, my love, and my home died today after a freak accident." She said her husband was playing in the water Thursday with several of their six children when he was hit by the intense wave. Oklahoman - Despite hospital systems and health officials calling out the need for more primary care doctors, graduates of U.S. medical schools are becoming less likely to choose to specialize in one of those fields. A record-high number of primary care positions was offered in the 2019 National Resident Matching Program ? known to doctors as "the Match." It determines where medical students will study in their chosen specialty after graduation. But this year, the percentage of primary care positions filled by fourth-year medical students was the lowest on record.
