Uber Health struck a deal with healthcare supplies distributor Henry Schein Medical to streamline doctors' use of software company Medpod's MobileDoc 2 ? a portable case stocked with medical devices, like EKGs, that enable remote consultations, per Newsday. Here's how the tie-up works: Medpod is integrating Uber Health into its platform so doctors affiliated with Medpod can request Uber to shuttle a medical assistant ? with the MobileDoc 2 in tow ? to a patient's home to guide a teleconsultation. If the doctor deems it necessary post-consultation, Uber can also bring the patient into their office for further care. A testing phase of the service is launching in 15 US markets. Putting it in context: This marks Uber Health's first public move into healthcare logistics. Until now, Uber Hea

Metafilter - I've injured a knuckle or finger in a very minor way, but I'm worried that it might not be healing properly. About 80 days ago I was for some reason absent-mindedly chewing on my right index finger when there was a small pop. It hurt just a bit, but my knuckle (the second one from the fingertip) now seemed a little loose. In the days since then, this finger has been slightly sore in an only periodically noticeable way. However, if bumped sideways it hurts a bit more, and I've bumped it sideways a couple of times in the last 24 hour, so it's now sore enough to be distracting today. This is a such a tiny injury, that my inclination is just to keep on letting my hand fix itself, but I've stared to wonder whether this could turn into a progressive problem of some sort, or lead to problems later on if it doesn't heal properly. At the same time, I'm reluctant to seek medical attention because (although I have decent insurance) any specialist attention is likely to be expensive, and
